Story behind the Sleepout Pads

Dr. Duncan Irschick and Dr. Alfred Crosby led research teams at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to invent the Sleepout Pads' bio-inspired Geckskin® technology over the course of decades.

This technology won the 2013 NASA Launch Challenge and CNN Money Named it a Top 5 Science Breakthrough for 2012.

We worked with the incredible team at Felsuma, who are making the Geckskin technology available in different applications, to develop an application specifically for light bleeds around windows.

The Sleepout Pads go on the curtain fabric and attach to any surface like magic, including wood, drywall, glass, and even concrete. They block out the annoying light bleeds that keep you tossing and turning, creating pitch-black darkness anywhere you want to sleep.

Dimensions

Each Sleepout Pads Pack comes with 8 pads. Weight is 1 oz or about half of a pound. Length and width are 2” x 1” / 5 cm x 2.5 cm. Each Sleepout Pad holds up to 5 lbs of weight.
